The MaudCast S01E01: Lesley Clement and the Launch of the L.M. Montgomery Vision Forum #LMMI2020

Today is Day 1 of the L.M. Montgomery & Vision Forum–the virtual space for the 2020 L.M. Montgomery conference. The “2020 Vision Forum” is now open here. Today and through the week there will be scholarly presentations, creative projects, information on the L.M. Montgomery Institute and Montgomery-related projects, and virtual fun and camaraderie. I encourage you to check out today’s blogs and multi-media presentation, and you can also read more about the overall 2020 Vision Forum here. Watch the L.M. Montgomery Institute’s social media (@lmminstitute on Facebook & Instagram; @LMMI_UPEI on Twitter), and the hashtag #LMMI2020.

One of the activities in the Vision Forum is the launch of the MaudCast: The Podcast of the L.M. Montgomery Institute. This brand new podcast is our quest to discover cutting-edge scholarship about the life and works of Lucy Maud Montgomery, welcoming to the microphone leading academics, emerging scholars, local researchers, and imaginative readers and writers from around the world.

I am pleased to be the MaudCast host–an entirely new experience for me! We released the teaser last week, and today is the release of S01E01: Lesley Clement, Launch of the Vision Forum. Here the LMMI Visiting Scholar Dr. Lesley Clement casts here vision for the “Vision Forum,” and shares a bit about her work as a scholar and some of her experiences as a reader.

You can hear episode 1 below, at Podbean, Spotify, and other podcast sites, and on the Journal of Montgomery Studies youtube site.

This week’s podcasts include:

  • S01:E00: The MaudCast Teaser
  • S01E01: Lesley Clement, Launch of the Vision Forum
  • S01E02: Laura Leden, L.M. Montgomery and Nordic Translation
  • S01E03: Kate Scarth and the L.M. Montgomery Institute

Stick around for the great Montgomery content available online, for free, anywhere in the world, during the virtual 2020 Vision Forum. And be sure to watch for the MaudCast as I get to chat with readers, artists, and scholars about their work.

I would also appreciate if you shared the news, follow us on Spotify, Podbean, Youtube, or favourite podcast app, and follow #LMMI2020 for in-time conversation. I’ll also be blogging #LMMontgomery content throughout the rest of this week.

About Brenton Dickieson

“A Pilgrim in Narnia” is a blog project in reading and talking about the work of C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, the Inklings, L.M. Montgomery, and the worlds they created. As a "Faith, Fantasy, and Fiction" blog, we cover topics like children’s literature, myths and mythology, fantasy, science fiction, speculative fiction, poetry, theology, cultural criticism, art and writing. This blog includes my thoughts as I read through my favourite writings and reflect on my own life and culture. In this sense, I am a Pilgrim in Narnia--or Middle Earth, or Fairyland, or Avonlea. I am often peeking inside of wardrobes, looking for magic bricks in urban alleys, or rooting through yard sale boxes for old rings. If something here captures your imagination, leave a comment, “like” a post, share with your friends, or sign up to receive Narnian Pilgrim posts in your email box. Brenton Dickieson (PhD, Chester) is a father, husband, friend, university lecturer, and freelance writer from Prince Edward Island, Canada.
